Over the last decade, the founders of Arcus Data have supported Global corporations in Energy, Healthcare, Financial, and Retail as well as sensitive government agencies. Because of that experience, Arcus Data recognizes the recurring problem of technologies advancing so rapidly that traditional solution providers cannot keep up. Analytics industry veterans, from SPLK, ESTC, and Deloitte, opened Arcus Data in April 2018, to empower operations to solve some of their most challenging business and technical issues.
During the weekend of February 8th, Arcus Data employees met at the Catamaran Resort in San Diego for our company kickoff. The three-day event consisted of training, team building, and planning for 2019 and beyond. The theme of the event was RE: Launch, focusing on the hard work and preparation needed in order to achieve the lofty goals of Arcus Data and its customers. The event concluded with a special dinner and awards ceremony.
Arcus Data Moving Forward
On Friday, conversations with our client, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) Senior Advisor, ETS IT/OT, Chris Perez highlighted several successful initiatives in 2018. Chris also discussed key trends to be aware of in 2019 for the Energy & Utility industry. A Fireside Chat including Zac Carney, Jo Naken and Tim Anderson (Splunk), as well as Zack Tembi (Arcus Data), provided a great dialogue around what is most important to our mutual customers today and as we look further into 2019.
On Saturday we hosted a technical training session, allowing our team an opportunity to collaborate on solutions, approach, innovation, and methodologies. Founder Josh McQueen led a demo of Cribl.io and reviewed best practices for deploying the Splunk App for AWS.
Arcus Data RE: Launch ended with an awards banquet at JRDN Restaurant in San Diego. The evening started with appetizers and drinks, followed by a delicious three-course meal. After our main course, we recognized three team members for their outstanding contributions to our success.
Innovator Award Dennis Morton - Showing dedication in support for customers and fellow team members. In particular, we saw a tremendous response from his implementation of Machine Learning capabilities at various customer sites utilizing the Splunk ML toolkit.
Customer Impact Award Ian Murphy - Providing excellent customer experience while making a huge positive impact on the end goals of our clients.
Utility Player Award Josh McQueen - Wearing the most hats including co-founder and stepping up to take on many critical roles within the company from leadership to evangelist and more.
